Domaine Sylvain Cathiard’s origins date back to 1920 when Alfred Cathiard began acquiring his first vine parcels in Vosne. The family’s parcel portfolio comprises some of the most prestigious lands in some of the best appellations in Burgundy; including Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Romanée-St-Vivant. Today the Domaine is managed by Sylvain Cathiard and his son Sebastien. The wines have reached an incredible status and are almost impossible to find on the French market due to their grand finesse and harmony.
Located in the middle of hillsides, this wine is powerful and bright gaining energy from its incredible soils composed of limestone, gravel, and marl. On the nose it reveals a bouquet of black cherries, wild strawberries, and coffee with hints of soft spices. Its mouthfeel is full-bodied with soft tannins lingering to a beautiful mineral finish.
