Château Pavie
First planted by the Romans, the unparalleled slopes of Château Pavie first gained Classified First Growth status while under the Valette family management in 1954. The estate was subsequently elevated to Grade "A" in 2012 under the new Classification of St. Emilion fine wines.
The estate was acquired from the Valette family in 1998 by Gérard Perse with the advice of Robert Parker and Michel Rolland. Michel Rolland supervised the production of Chateau Pavie during decades with the purpose to make an Haute Couture wine.
Covering 35 hectares, Château Pavie possesses arguably the finest soils and largest vineyard of all the Classified First Growth estates of Saint-Emilion.
Composed of predominantly limestone soils and enjoying full sun exposure, Château Pavie produces outstanding Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon which are all carefully hand harvested.
The best vintages of Château Pavie are: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000 and 1998.
