The story starts in 1838 with two Prussian immigrants, William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann who are responsible for Deutz’s Champagne start and success. Deutz quickly became a UK favorite with almost 600,000 bottles shipped at its peak, but today most of Deutz’s markets are domestic. Today, the Champagne house is still considered one of the very best in the region. A fun fact about the brand is that their cuvée “Amour” has gold plated capsules, designed to be transformed into necklaces.
