Pol Roger
In 1849, Pol Roger started his own Champagne house after previously working in the wine wholesale industry and founded Champagne Pol Roger. Over the years, the brand accumulated prestige and built up its reputation, notably after receiving the Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II, which is given to those who supply goods or services to a royal court. Another face of the Champagne was Winston Churchill, who claimed it was one of his favorites; After his passing, the House created a special cuvée in his honor “Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill”, which remains to this day a closely kept secret blend of Chardonnay with a focus on Pinot Noir.
Some of the most exceptional Champagnes from Pol Roger’s lineup includes 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill vintages.
