Napa Valley
Napa Valley is a prized American Viticultural Area (AVA) of outstanding natural beauty. Today, nearly 400 wineries produce fine-wines from 47,000 acres of vineyards; the prominent prestigious producers are Mondavi Winery, Berlinger, and Sutter Home.
Divided into fourteen distinct viticultural subdivisions, Napa Valley’s generous climate provides consistency and exceptional quality fine wines. With some of the most exceptional volcanic soils in the world, an array of premium quality internationally acclaimed grape varieties thrive here including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc.
First established by John Patchett 1858, Charles Krug established another of Napa Valley's first commercial wineries in St. Helena in 1861. Napa Valley is now a major enotouristic destination and featured in the prestigious Paris Wine Tasting of 1976, cementing the region's shining reputation.
