Loire wines

Located in the heart of France, the Loire region benefits from its rich history along with the diversity of its terroir, allowing for a variety of different styles of wine.  

Since the High Middle Ages, the Loire Valley has upheld a certain notoriety and prestige around its extremely desirable wines, and most notably for its white wines issued from Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Melon de Bourgogne varietals.

Its most popular and sought-after AOCs include Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé (Upper Loire), Touraine, Saumur, Chinon, Vouvray (Middle Loire), Muscadet, and Anjou-Samur.

Although, notorious for its still wines, the Loire also produces sparkling wines and is the second largest French producing region, right after Champagne.
