Jacquesson
Jacquesson & Fils Champagne was founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson, and claims it is the oldest independent Champagne house. A rumour began that Jacqueson Champagne was Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite, which evidently contributed to its success. Today, the House is run by brothers Jean Hervé and Laurent Chiquet who have moved to organic farming methods, increased oak fermentation, and bought new vineyards; however, production is still limited to around 350,000 bottles per year.
Jacquesson’s lineup consists of: Cuvée XXX (their numbered cuvée that changes each year), Corne Bautray, Vauzelle Terme, Champ Caïn, and Champagne rosé Dizy Terres Rouges.
