Château de Beaucastel
The high-ranking Chateau Beaucastel boasts 200 hectares of vineyards, which makes it one of the grandest fine-wine estates in the Châteauneuf du Pape wine-growing region.
The winery takes its name from the acclaimed Beaucastel family, who lived in Courthézon in the 16th century. Chateau Beaucastel has since been run by several generations of the Perrin family. Beaucastel is part of the elite Primum Familiae Vini.
Partnering with the stars, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who entrusted their organic Provencal estate Miraval to Marc Perrin, producing an outstanding Rosé fine wine. The Perrin family also own part of Tablas Creek with Robert Haas and the Perin et Fils label.
Beaucastel was one of the very first domains to practice organic viticulture, producing four outstanding red fine-wines; Beaucastel, Coudoulet de Beaucastel and Les Sinards along with the rare, expensive and supreme, Hommage a Jacques Perrin.
Beaucastel boasts three white fine-wines, Beaucastel Blanc, Beaucastel Blanc Vieille Vignes and Les Sinards. They also make a white Coudoulet de Beaucastel.
The celebrated vineyards are planted with 13 grape varieties, including Grenache and Mourvèdre making up the majority.
The greatest vintages of Chateau Beaucastel are: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2001, 2000, 1998, 1995, 1990, 1989 and 1981.
