Château Latour wine
For 100 years, Chateau Latour has reigned as the most consistent of the 1st Grand Cru Classé châteaux from the esteemed Pauillac appellation.
The history of Latour dates back to the 14th century. After a period of English ownership in the form of the Pearson Group (owners of the Financial Times, and Harvey’s of Bristol) the property was passed on to French billionaire industrialist François Pinault in 1933, whose empire includes Yves St. Laurent, Gucci and Christie’s Auction House (Kering, former PPR).
The pristine vineyards produce three outstanding wines: the Grand Vin, Les Forts de Latour, and finally, Pauillac de Latour. They draw their exceptional qualities from a generous soil of iron-pan planted to Merlot noir and Cabernet Franc.
The prestigious establishment Jean-Pierre Moueix closely manages the winegrowing of Château Latour.
The greatest vintages of Chateau Latour are considered: 2017, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 1996, 1995, 1990, 1982, 1975, 1971, 1970, 1966, 1964, 1962, 1961, 1959, 1949, 1948, 1934, 1929, 1928, 1926, 1921 and 1900.
