Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a name that might ring a bell to more than a few. Known for boasting some of the most exceptional and most expensive wines in the world the Domaine has always kept a certain mystery around its success. All the Domaine wines are designated Grand-Cru and its vineyards are UNESCO world heritage sites. Limiting its production to around 6,000 cases a year also contributes to the wines’ extremely high demand along with premium prices.

Echézeaux GC constitutes one of the eight largest grands crus of the Vosne-Romanée region with a whopping 37 hectares. A hefty chunk of land when compared with other subregions of Burgundy. Planted with mostly Pinot Noir, which is seen as the most delicate varietal to produce and is used to make the Domaine’s most “accessible” wine. Tasting notes reveal is supple and fresh wine embellished with aromas of red berries, fresh flowers and soft spices. Particularly complex and persistent, these wines benefit from a few aging years in order to reach their highest potential.
