Robert Parker's Wine Advocate : In a flattering vintage when many Rhône Valley producers made lush, almost sweet reds, Beaucastel appears to have stuck with a more classic approach. I bought this one in magnums, which keep better than the regular bottles, in the expectation of a great, long-lived vintage.
Blend : 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 15% Vaccarèse/ Terret Noir/ Muscardin/ Clairette/ Picpoul/ Picardan/ Bourboulenc/ Roussanne, 10% Counoise, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsaul.
