Robert Parker's Wine Advocate : The Amiral de Beychevelle 2014 is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot from mostly young vines in the vineyard. It has an attractive bouquet, especially for a second label, with brambly black fruit mixed with graphite and incense all nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy on the entry with lively, brambly black fruit mixed with cassis and blueberry, not complex but harmonious and quite long. This is definitely a second wine to look out for. Apr 2015. (Neal Martin)
