Robert Parker's Wine Advocate : Tasted blind at Farr’s 2002 Bordeaux tasting. This Beychevelle lacks a little vigour on the nose although it is imbued with a sense of clarity with notes of blackberry leaf, graphite, hot bricks/gravel and wild hedgerow. Medium-bodied, rustic tannins, irony, bitter cherry, redcurrant and strawberry with a focused, edgy, straight-laced finish. Tasted October 2009.
James Suckling : I like the aromas of ripe fruit and plums. Medium- to full-bodied, with a solid core of tannins and a medium finish. A bit austere. Best after 2007. 22,165 cases made.
Blend : 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot.
