Robert Parker's Wine Advocate : Tasted from the chateau reserves with proprietor Jean-Marie Bouldy. This is far better than the sample I tasted back in 2005! The nose demands coaxing from the glass: redcurrant, a touch of cherry liqueur and a hint of liquorices. Good definition but it would benefit from more bottle age. The palate is very well balanced with the Cabernet Franc ripe and lending it a savoury touch. There is very fine mineralite coming through towards the typically “symmetrical” finish that last long in the mouth. At ten years of age, this has only just started to develop.
