New Zealand
New Zealand has rapidly grown to be a top wine destination, known for its cool climate and diverse terroir which are favorable for producing some of the most unique and exciting wines in the world. New Zealand’s winemaking history dates to the 19th century when missionaries first planted vines. Today, New Zealand has over 400 wineries and 600 grapes varieties country wide. Its landscapes are incredibly diverse with the Marlborough region being mostly hot and dry contrasted by the Central Otago region which is cooler and slightly more humid. This diversity in climate allows for a variety of different wine styles from crisp Sauvignon Blancs, aromatic Rieslings, to bolder reds made from Bordeaux varieties and Pinot Noir.
