Château Lynch-Bages
In the heart of Médoc on the banks of the estuary, Château Lynch-Bages is regarded as one of the most eminent and cherished estates in Bordeaux wine history.
Château Lynch-Bages is intrinsically linked to the Lynch family of Irish decent, who moved to Gironde at the end of the 17th century.
Today, under to the tireless supervision of Jean Michel Cazes, Chateau Lynch-Bages has received extensive renovation, notably by the architectural family that designed the iconic Louvre in Paris. Lynch Bages was the first Grand Cru Classé sent to space when a French astronaut carried a 1975 vintage bottle with him on a launch in 1985!
The estate’s picturesque 100-hectare vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with a supreme terroir of gravel, chalk, and sandy soils. Lynch Bages produces an exceptional fine white wine, Blanc de Lynch-Bages, which is blended with Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle.
The greatest vintages of Chateau Lynch-Bages are: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1996, 1990, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1970, 1961 and 1959.
